Development
Mitch and Ingrid co-developed the
four-course
Information Security Management (ISM) specialization for the
Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program
offered by
Jones International
University, the world's first nationally accredited fully
online university. The four courses they developed are targeted toward
mid-level managers and include:
MBA611 Securing the Organization. Provides a high-level overview of
the subject of information security from a management standpoint by
covering a broad spectrum of topics relating to securing an
organization’s information assets and demonstrating how to use a
standard methodology for developing an information security program for
an organization.
MBA612 Securing the Network. Provides an introduction to the
subject of network security based on a defense-in-depth model that uses
a layered approach to securing the perimeter, the internal network,
remote access, servers, desktops, applications and data.
MBA613 Risk Assessment and Management. Provides hands-on
experience in assessing and managing risk associated with information
systems using OCTAVE (Operationally Critical Threat, Asset, and
Vulnerability Evaluation), a risk assessment methodology developed by
the CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC) at the Software Engineering
Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon University.
MBA614 Business Continuity Planning. Provides a management-level
introduction to the topics of business continuity planning, disaster
recovery, incident response, and computer forensics. Also relates
Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to information security risk analysis.
